Os corretores do Barclays FX conspiraram em salas de chat e disseram "todos morremos juntos"

O Barclays foi multado em 1,5 bilhão de libras (2,4 bilhões de dólares) no total, na quarta-feira, pelas autoridades dos Estados Unidos e do Reino Unido por falhas nos negócios que permitiram aos comerciantes fraudar os mercados de câmbio.
Aqui estão os destaques da Autoridade de Conduta Financeira do Reino Unido e do Departamento de Serviços Financeiros dos EUA sobre um grupo de comerciantes que se chamavam "O Cartel", "os jogadores", "os 3 mosqueteiros" em uma sala de bate-papo online. Eles até disseram: "todos nós morremos juntos".
Os grupos de bate-papo incluíram traders de FX do Citigroup, JP Morgan, UBS, RBS e Barclays, especializados em negociar o euro.
"O Cartel" colocou prospectivos montadores de mercado em um julgamento de um mês.
"Um comerciante do Barclays FX, quando se tornou o principal trader do Euro para o Barclays em 2011, estava desesperado para ser convidado a aderir ao Cartel devido às vantagens comerciais de compartilhar informações com os outros principais traders do Euro. Após uma extensa discussão sobre se ou não este comerciante "iria agregar valor" ao Cartel, ele foi convidado a participar de um "julgamento de 1 mês", mas foi aconselhado "bagunçar isso e dormir com um olho aberto à noite." O grupo de comerciantes tinha estratégias-chave para tentar manipular os mercados.
"Operadores de FX do Barclays empregaram várias estratégias em seus esforços para manipular as correções. Sure oil is weighing on the economy, but the same can be said for the US economy if it goes much lower than these levels (i. e. if USD longs are attractive here, then CAD should be viewed in a similar light?) No massive easing in the works like EUR and JPY, will be pulled along by a healthy US economy, seems like against the EUR/JPY/AUD and even GBP the CAD has to be starting to look attractive??Jan 7.
